At your first visit to Dr. Mazzocco's office, after you check-in at the front desk, one of the orthodontic assistants will escort you to the dental chair. The orthodontic assistant will take a quick look at your teeth and bite and take a few quick notes. She may then take some photos of your teeth. Then Dr. Mazzocco will come over and examine your teeth and bite and take some detailed notes. And that's it! A very easy appointment! Dr. Mazzocco will then have your Mom or Dad come in to the office from the waiting room and discuss your teeth and bite with them. Dr. Mazzocco will answer any questions you might have about teeth and braces-so don't be afraid to ask! What happens next?If Dr. Mazzocco thinks that you might need braces but aren't ready for them yet, he will ask you to come back and see him in about six months for another check-up. If he thinks you are ready for braces, he will ask you to come back real soon for what we call a records appointment. This appointment takes about one hour. The orthodontic assistants will take pictures, x-rays, and molds of your teeth and then these records will give Dr. Mazzocco all the information that he needs to make a complete diagnosis of your teeth and bite. Next, he will have a meeting with your Mom and Dad and review your records with them and describe the treatment that you will need to get a really great smile. Braces Yet? |
